What’s it like to be a member?
GIVING WoMN welcomes members to our organization whether you are experienced in philanthropy or just beginning your journey. The joys of GW membership are many but one of the best things about GW is this: we’re flexible! Members can be as involved as much or as little as they wish. Some just make contributions and cast their votes for grantees. That’s just fine. Others serve on committees, or our Board, or help at events. We say, “What works for you works for us.”
How do I become a member?
Each year in November, our members choose a membership level and contribute to the annual grant pool. A small portion of this contribution is used to cover the operational costs of running GIVING WoMN including our educational events, mailings, and other costs of running GW. All contributions are 100 percent tax-deductible.
New members are welcome to join at any point in the year by filling out and submitting our 2026 Member Contribution Form.
What are your membership levels?
GIVING WoMN offers three membership categories to suit different situations and needs. Membership categories include Member, Catalyst, and Legacy. Each type of membership has a specific contribution structure and membership benefits. All membership categories have one non-weighted vote on annual grants.
Membership Categories
Member

($500+ for grants and $100 for administration.) A new addition, this category requires the member to serve volunteer hours for GW during the year.
Catalyst

($1,000+ for grants and $200 for administration) This is our traditional membership category.
Legacy

($2,000+ for grants and $200 for administration) This new category recognizes our founding members and the contributions of those members who want their gift to spur growth and a legacy for GW.

Yearly memberships become our grant pool that is delivered to grantees the following February.
The majority of your contribution is dedicated to the annual grant pool and a small portion goes to support the administrative costs of GIVING WoMN.
